Software applications typically associated with the Food, Chemical and Pharmaceutical sectors, where the management of the production order associated with the bill of materials and the recipe ensures a punctual and repetitive sequence of operations managed by the process parameters that guarantee correct execution. All data must be promptly recorded and associated with the product lot (batch), allowing traceability and subsequent tracking. The same data allows the generation of reports, with customisable views by the user that become a “birth certificate” of the product.

These are systems that ensure the cleaning and sanitisation of the systems where they passed through. They intersect with production, therefore they must be executed in alternation with production and sometimes in parallel with it without interfering with the product. Similarly to batch processes, they generate data of execution to ensure that cleaning has been carried out respecting the sanitisation parameters, the latter saved and associated with washing reports.

What distinguishes the creation of batch process software is the consolidated specific know-how in the specified sectors, including all the machinery and utilities serving them.


The process plants where we operate are also in the sectors of:

  • Water purification and treatment;
  • Plants and biomass;
  • HVAC systems;
  • Air analysis and treatment systems;
  • Duilding automation;
  • Power plants for the production of energy from renewable sources.

The concept of batch is replaced by the “Continuous” process, where specific control algorithms come into play thanks to dedicated instrumentation where, through the set parameters, continuous service is guaranteed for which this type of plant is typically built to serve the community. Similarly to batch processes, reporting is strongly required to guarantee the quality of the process and, increasingly, the telemetry of sensitive data useful for guaranteeing the provision of the service.

Our specialisation in continuous processes is the management of information in the database, its consultation or export to third-party services or systems.
 

They include all the custom-made plants created to transform raw materials of various kinds into a semi-finished product or treat waste material for recycling.

This type of application requires in-depth expertise to address the issues that arise in the process setup. In addition to providing the software and hardware solution, we can offer a consultancy service during the design phase or in technical choices.

Revamping or Retrofitting of systems or machines is undertaken when our client intends to maintain a still “robust” hydraulic or mechanical system. However, over the years, the electromechanical/instrumental or electronic component (sometimes absent) has reached or exceeded the PL (Performance Level) or the electronics is no longer supported in terms of spare parts or, as often happens, the know-how of the design and development environment has retired along with the technicians who held the Know-how. In these cases of system rejuvenation, high technical skills are required to analyse the documentation that is sometimes absent, therefore it will be necessary to proceed with surveys and analysis with interviews with operators and maintenance personnel to reconstruct the operating specification, analysing all the components involved and the characteristics of those that can be recovered, or proposing any replacements or improvements.

An important activity is the evaluation of the machine and operator safety aspects with a specific “Risk Analysis”, which is the document that will allow the subsequent electrical redesign.

Our strong point in retrofits is knowing how to plan all the necessary interventions in order to minimize plant downtime and testing.
